The hands-on practical sessions are designed for 4 to 6 participants and usually take place over a span of two days. This allows for ample time to spend with each participant.
Must be a CAAM member in good standing and registered for the academic modules.
Trainers of CAAM are experts in the aesthetic medicine field, required to be a member of a CAAM, a member in good standing with their Provincial College of Physicians and Surgeons, and have met the criteria of CAAM.

Dr. Jaggi Rao is a double board certified dermatologist (Canada and USA) and a certified cosmetic surgeon. He received his medical degree from McMaster University in 1998, and went on to complete his 5-year specialty training in dermatology at the University of Alberta. This was followed by the completion of an accredited fellowship with the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery in Southern California. Dr. Rao is a full Clinical Professor of Medicine and served as the Program Director for the Dermatology Residency Training Program at the University of Alberta from 2009 to 2014.
Dr. Rao has won several accolades for writing, presentations, research and teaching, including the Canadian Dermatology Association’s Teacher of the Year Award. In 2011, he was the recipient of Avenue Magazine’s Top 40 under 40 Award. He has authored over 50 scientific papers and textbook chapters, and has been an invited speaker for over 500 lectures worldwide to physicians, other professionals, industry and the general public. Dr. Rao is a popular instructor for a number of dermatology-related courses and educational projects. He continues to serve as a consultant to various organizations including the government (such as the Canadian Standards Association), medical device and pharmaceutical industry, healthcare provision businesses, and professional sports teams (such as the Edmonton Oilers Hockey Club).
Clinically, Dr. Rao is the founder and medical director of a comprehensive Dermatology & Dermasurgery Centre in the heart of Edmonton, Alberta. He has developed several treatment protocols and techniques, which have been adopted by other healthcare professionals. He is the founder and medical director of ConsultDERM™, Canada’s largest teledermatology program, which provides remote dermatology assistance for patients with skin-related problems. He also volunteers with Doctors Without Borders (MSF) and the Canadian Physicians for Aid & Relief (CPAR) as a teledermatologist.
Dr. Rao combines his passion for dermatology with his interest in helping people to provide education, expert advice and clinical care to all who desire it.

Dr. Haneef Alibhai graduated from McGill Medical School in Montreal, Canada. He is the medical director of md cosmetic & laser clinic in Abbotsford, BC, Canada and the director of training of md cosmetic & laser training. His main interests lie in the fields of lasers, pulsed light devices, Botox Cosmetic and Therapeutic and Dermal Fillers.
Dr. Alibhai is a Past-President of the Canadian Association of Aesthetic Medicine. He is a clinical instructor for the UBC Faculty of Medicine. He is a faculty member of the Canadian Association of Aesthetic Medicine and the National Society of Cosmetic Physicians.
Dr. Alibhai has been a keynote speaker at conferences organized by the International Union of Aesthetic Medicine, the French Society of Aesthetic Medicine, the Italian Society of Aesthetic Medicine, the Argentinean Society of Aesthetic Medicine, the Mexican Society of Aesthetic Medicine, the Colombian Association of Aesthetic Medicine, the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, the Dubai Dermatology Association, the Asia Pacific Society of Aesthetic Medicine and the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. He has written articles for Aesthetic Trends & Technologies, Aesthetic Buyers Guide, Healthy Aging Magazine and several other aesthetic magazines and journals. He was the Section Editor for the Aesthetic Medicine Chapter in the 3rd Edition of “Procedures for Primary Care” published by Elsevier.
Dr. Alibhai has been training physicians and dentists on various applications in aesthetic medicine since 2002. He is a Certified Physician Trainer for Allergan (Botox Cosmetic, Juvederm). Since 2002, he has trained over 900 doctors and dentists worldwide. He is an internationally recognized speaker and author in the field of aesthetic medicine.

After graduating from the University of Stellenbosch with degrees in Medicine and Surgery, Dr Van Aardt immigrated to Canada in 1993. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine and has more than 12 years of experience in ER and Family Medicine. In 2000 his focus shifted to Cosmetic Medicine and has been practicing full time in this area since 2004. He has served on the board of CAAM for a number of years, is a Fellow of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery and also serves as an educational preceptor and advisor for other institutions. He has a passion for teaching and learning, has authored medical texts and has been interviewed numerous times for television as well as print media. Dr Van Aardt works out of three locations located in and around Halifax, Nova Scotia and teaches internationally.
